Garnets come in many colors with the exception of blue, and are found in
the USA, Africa, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Brazil, Australia and India. This gem
should be protected from scratches and sharp blows as well as kept away
from extreme temperature changes. Legends say that the Garnet offers
protection from nightmares and gives its wearer guidance in the night.
Amethysts vary in shade from pale lilac to dark purple, and are found in
Brazil, Uruguay and Zambia. Amethysts are durable and are an excellent
choice for everyday wear, but should be removed before any activities that
may cause scratching. Amethysts are associated with royalty, passion and
hope. They are said to calm the GEMSTONES spirit and give focus.
